After much community clamor and requests, Spartanburg will soon have a Middle Eastern restaurant. New venture, Ali Baba, will open in the former It's Banh Mi Baby location (201 Wall St,) in downtown Spartanburg.Picture: Fast-casual, customizable gyros, bowls, and kabobs, served with house-roasted lamb and housemade flatbread.Also on the menu? Fresh hummus, tabouli, spinach pies, and all your favorite, traditional bites served fast.The new venture is spearheaded by Spartanburg-native Donna Marzouka, with new business partner and longtime friend Nick Dhers (of Le Spice and Baber Rhyne.)Expect a February 2020 opening date.
