Downtown Comes Alive for Halloween

Halloween is fun for all ages, and even more so when you add in live music, local businesses, and food trucks. We took the guesswork (and the walking) out of door-to-door candy propositioning for you; here's a curated list of family-friendly downtown celebrations throughout Spartanburg County to trick-or-treat this October 31st.

  • City of Inman, Boo on Mill: Downtown Inman will have a Halloween street festival with food vendors, bounce houses, a DJ, and of course, candy. The event is 6-8pm, presented by Iron Power Sports. (Mill St)
  • City of Landrum, Halloween Stroll & Fall Festival: Enjoy a proper Blue Ridge festival at Downtown Landrum's Fall Festival, with food trucks, music, and a trunk-or-treat line from 5-7pm. There will be a 7pm costume contest on the North Trade Ave stage at the close of the festival. (E Rutherford St)
  • City of Spartanburg, Trunk-or-Treat at CC Woodson Community Center: Join the City Parks and Recreation team for a night of fun, food, and games from 5:30-8pm at the Southside's community center. The event will be fun for all ages, including teens! (210 Bomar Ave)
  • City of Woodruff, Halloween on Main: Downtown Woodruff comes alive this Thursday night, 5:30-8pm, with trunk-or-treating from local organizations and nonprofits, inflatables, costume contest, and a ghost story contest hosted by Stone Soup Storytelling.

For those looking for specifically pet-friendly celebrations, who may not have children to trick-or-treat with, downtown Spartanburg has two great events:

  • Frightyard at Fr8yard: This family-friendly event has it all: trick-or-treating for children and pets, live music, a pumpkin-carving contest, free face-painting, classic horror films (including Michael Jackson's Thriller) on the jumbotron, a costume contest, and yard bites and beers! Note: $5 cover charge to enter, 4-11pm. (125 E Main St)
  • Halloween at RJ Rockers: Pimp your pup, and head to the downtown brewery's pet costume contest from 6-8pm. In addition to ice cold brews, enjoy live music and food from the Silo. (266 W Main St)
