A Taste of the Mexican Riviera

Acapulco Bakery, tucked in the heart of Fairforest, is known for their tacos, but offers far more to its loyal customers. Find a grocery store on one side of the building, and a weekend restaurant on the other. As the name suggests, Acapulco offers fresh-baked, traditional Mexican pastries (such as Conchas) and (giant) cookies. But that's far from all.The small but extensive grocery shelves house dried spices, any canned bean, chili, or pepper you could want, packaged cookies, dry goods, fresh fruits and meats, and more. Coolers are home to coconut water, nectars, and cane sugar sodas, with flavors such as Cola, Guava, and Lime. The ceilings are even strung with piñatas.Tacos-- al pastor and carne asada-- are available only on Saturday and Sunday, but drive plenty of foot traffic despite the exclusivity. Corn tortillas are piled high with your meat of choice, with a self-serve toppings and salsa bar. Pair your meal with a sweet, cinnamon horchata.
