Yep! These Recipes Are Delicious.

Blue Moon Specialty Foods started out small, with a seasoning and sauce booth at the weekly Hub City Farmers Market, and have since grown to a brick-and-mortar market and restaurant (130 S Church St,) opened in 2016. The family-owned business is spearheaded by founder "Wishbone" Walker and his daughter, Molly.In addition to delicious breakfast and lunch menu items, Blue Moon offers grab-n-go lunches, frozen meals, local gifts, and a full line-up of their seasonings and sauces. The most popular item, found in many of their market recipes, is the Yep! Shake Original seasoning.Here's TWO winning Yep! recipes to create for your next gathering, courtesy of the Blue Moon kitchen:

Heirloom Tomato Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 10in. regular round pie shell (not deep dish)
  • 1 lb. fresh heirloom tomatoes (3 medium tomatoes)
  • 1 oz. chopped kalamata olives
  • 12 oz. Blue Moon Blue Cheese Pimiento Cheese
  • 4 oz. sharp cheddar cheese
  • Sprinkle of freshly chopped basil
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1.5 tbsp. Blue Moon Yep! Shake Original seasoning

How to make the magic happen:

  1. Slice your tomatoes. Chop your basil coarsely. Dice your kalamata olives.
  2. Lay your tomatoes out flat, coat heavily with Yep! Shake Original seasoning, and dust lightly with flour. Flip tomatoes, and repeat.
  3. Add your tomatoes into the bottom of your pie shell.
  4. Add kalamata olives, and sprinkle with chopped basil.
  5. Top with Blue Moon's Blue Pimiento Cheese.
  6. Sprinkle with sharp cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake at 300 degrees for approximately 1 hour or until bubbly. Allow to settle after removing from oven.

Heirloom Cherry Tomato & Cucumber Salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heirloom cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup cucumbers
  • 1/8 cup red onions
  • 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tsp. Blue Moon Yep! Shake Original seasoning

How to make the magic happen:

  1. Dice your tomatoes in half.
  2. Peel your cucumbers, if desired, and dice.
  3. Peel and thin slice your red onions.
  4. Mix all ingredients together, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
