The Dr. T.K. Gregg Community Center is nearing completion in the City of Spartanburg's Northside neighborhood, with construction on the 47,000 sq.ft. facility set to finish by July 1st.The center will feature a community meeting room, gymnasium and mezzanine level walking track, two pools-- recreational and for swimming laps, a workout room, and computer lab.Assistant City Manager, Mitch Kennedy said the new center, named in honor of Dr. Theodore K. Gregg, who was an African American doctor in the city, will help transform the city’s Northside neighborhood while serving the broader community.Wanda Cheeks-Holmes, who currently serves as the Director of the Northwest Community Center, and is a Northside Voyager and Partners for Active Living board member, will lead as Director of the new center.The opening date of the Dr. T.K.
