Meet Us at the Blue Moon Bodega

Sip, savor, shop, and Yep! Shake at the newest location of a familiar savory downtown Spartanburg business.

Blue Moon Specialty Foods' second location, the Blue Moon Bodega, officially opened in January 2023 at 220 Daniel Morgan Avenue.

The "not your average grocer" features Blue Moon's signature prepared meals and spices, kitchen necessities, walk-in beer and wine caves, specialty gifts, a heated patio taproom, and a customizable food menu.

Whether you’re familiar with Blue Moon’s restaurant or catering menus already or not, the Bodega’s menu offers several unique items to tempt your tastebuds!

Early menu stand-outs and crowd favorites include:

  • The Kim-Cheesy sandwich, with sage derby cheese, sharp cheddar, swiss, kimchi, house pickles, and sriracha aioli on toasted sourdough

  • Spinach & Beet Salad, topped with pickled beets and onions, strawberries, craisins, spiced pecans, goat cheese, and red wine vinaigrette, with an optional grilled chicken addition

  • The Boda-Bing sandwich, featuring salami, mortadella, provolone, havarti, lettuce, tomato, olive tapenade, and red wine vinaigrette on a toasted French roll

  • BLT Ranch Pasta Salad (lunch side)

  • Asian Marinated Cucumbers (lunch side)

In addition to crafted sandwiches, salads, charcuterie boards, ice cream sundaes and coffee, each dish has fully customizable offerings. The food menu is also available for online ordering.

“The Dimples” kid-friendly charcuterie board

The most exciting customizable menu item, unique to the bodega taproom, are the charcuterie boards. Choose from four pre-built themed spreads, or build-your-own board with 15+ gourmet meats and cheeses, 10+ dips and spreads, and nearly 20 accompaniments to choose from.

Dining with tiny gourmands? “The Dimples” is a kid-friendly charcuterie board with a healthy mix of approachable textures, treats, and sweets to nibble.

The Bodega patio hosts several tasting events and pairings, such as featured wines from the cellar, girls’ night out and couples’ events, Friday fish fry, wine and chocolate pairings, neighborhood happy hours, and more.

The family-owned business is spearheaded by founder Chris "Wishbone" Walker and his daughter, Molly Walker Cashman. Blue Moon Specialty Foods started out small, with a seasoning and sauce booth at the weekly Hub City Farmers Market, and later grew to its first brick-and-mortar market and restaurant at 130 South Church Street in 2016.

The most popular item, found in many of their market recipes, is the Yep! Shake Original seasoning.
